UP Police Constable Selection Process

There are five important stages of selection of eligible candidates in UP Police Constable.

  1. Written Examination :- Those candidates whose application form is found correct will appear in the offline written examination.  The written examination will be of 300 marks whose time duration will be 2 hours.  There will be 5 subjects in this written examination which include General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability Test and Mental Aptitude Test or Intelligence Quotient Test or Reasoning
  2. Physical Measurement Test :-
    (i) Height 
    (a) The minimum height for men belonging to General/Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes should be 168 cm. The minimum height for Scheduled Tribe male candidates should be 160 cm.
    (b) The minimum height for female candidates belonging to General/Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes should be 152 cm. For female candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, the minimum height should be 147 cm.
    (ii) Chest
    (a) For General/Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes candidates, the minimum chest measurement should be 79 cm without expansion and 84 cm when expanded. For Scheduled Tribe candidates, the minimum chest measurement should be 77 cm without expansion and 82 cm when expanded.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test : Candidates who are successful in the physical standard test will have to appear in the physical efficiency test.  In the Physical Standard Test, it is necessary to complete a race of 5.8 km in 25 minutes for male candidates and a race of 2.4 km in 14 minutes for female candidates.
  4. Document Verification : If the candidates are successful in the exam, they will be called for document verification where the candidates will bring all their documents like mark sheet, certificates, and other important documents.
  5. Medical Test : Candidates who are successful in all the important stages will have to undergo a final medical test in which it is seen whether the candidate is physically and mentally healthy or not.

There are three important steps in the selection process for JCCE Recruitment 2023.

Step 1: Physical Efficiency Test – The first thing in JCCE Recruitment 2023 is the physical efficiency test, the physical efficiency test of the candidate will be taken and it is mandatory to be successful in it. No marks will be given in the Physical Efficiency Test, it is only for physical measurement and physical ability.

Step 3 : Written Examination -The last stage in JCCE Recruitment 2023 will be the written examination, when the candidate clears the physical ability test and medical test, then the important stage is the written examination and it is mandatory to be successful in the written examination.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CDS II examination, candidates need to meet certain criteria:

Nationality:

  • A candidate must be either:
    • A citizen of India, or
    • A subject of Bhutan, or
    • A subject of Nepal, or
    • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently in India, or
    • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam intending to settle in India permanently.

Age Limit:

  • For Indian Military Academy (IMA): Unmarried male candidates aged between 19 and 24 years.
  • For Indian Naval Academy (INA): Unmarried male candidates aged between 19 and 22 years.
  • For Air Force Academy (AFA): Unmarried male candidates aged between 20 and 24 years.
  • For Officers’ Training Academy (OTA): Male candidates (married or unmarried) aged between 19 and 25 years.

Educational Qualification:

  • For IMA and OTA: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • For INA: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
  • For AFA: Bachelor’s degree with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

The CDS II examination comprises three papers:

  2. General Knowledge
  3. Elementary Mathematics

Educational Qualification – Indian Coast Guard

  • General Duty (GD) – (i) Should hold a degree of recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks. (ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
  • Commercial Pilot License -Short (CPL-SSA) – (i) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum. (ii) Should possess current Commercial Pilot License issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation
  • Technical (Mechanical) – (i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
    OR
    Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
    (ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
  • Technical (Electrical/Electronics) – (i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
